The S. Brustas GmbH was established in 1985. Our stated mission was to respond to the rapidly growing popularity of golf in Europe. As a former employee of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Sam Brustas was intimately familiar with the golf cars manufactured by that company. When Harley-Davidson sold the golf car division in 1984, Columbia ParCar was born and Sam felt that this represented a unique opportunity to step out on his own. Agreement was reached with the new owners of Columbia ParCar and soon a network of distributors and agents was under contract to cover all of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The activities of all Columbia ParCar distributors and sales agents, within this territory, are coordinated from our corporate headquarters here in Germany.

Over the years, several important "non golf vehicle" projects were conceived and realized. Today the GmbH is one of Germany's leading innovators in the field of electric road vehicles. Several patents have been applied for and many copyrights are held. We are proud to list over 50 well known international companies who repeatedly call on us for innovative and creative solutions to their electric vehicle needs.

In order to manufacture special vehicles or convert series production vehicles to meet client performance specifications, an extensive international network of highly qualified and superbly motivated component suppliers is a necessity. Fifteen years in the making, this network is now firmly in place and it enables us to supply virtually any vehicle component or sub assembly - to any client - faster and more competitively priced than anyone else.

Ten years ago, GmbH activities were expanded to include work on environmentally compatible high performance components for non-automotive applications. Working with several North American manufacturers and a German chemical company, we have participated in numerous programs to develop catalytic converters for the internal combustion engines used in lawn and garden equipment as well as industrial and marine products. Many of these programs are finished and catalytic converter equipped lawn and garden products will soon be available to the general public.

Current GmbH electric vehicle activities address forward thinking battery technologies as well as test and development of leading edge EV components and sub assemblies. Permanent magnet motors, 4Q controllers, bi-polar batteries and CVT systems are just a few of the products currently under development. Several prototype vehicles showcase these products and our capabilities.
